Digital Twin of Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicle: a detailed modelling approach of the hydrogen powertrain and the auxiliary systems

The transport sector is today a major source of pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions. Fuel Cell Hybrid Electric Vehicles are solution to reduce its environmental impact, thanks the zero tailpipe emissions longer driving ranges if compared with full electric vehicles. A Digital Twin FCHEV developed in this study, through assessment models mechanical thermal systems within vehicle. Simulink/Simscape model here presented able support both design choices test control strategies. results obtained allow characterizing impact auxiliary on range, whose relative value from 28% 40% overall energy demand depending ambient temperature, range between 430 km 356 respectively for mild cold temperature.
